Good questions, straight answers

Your Questions, Answered

Will I pay anything just for the visit?

Nothing to show up, ever. The visit itself costs you zero, and every dollar you pay goes toward work that actually clears the problem.

What does "$65 off your first service" cover?

It's a straight $65 taken off whatever your first job with us costs, subtracted from the quote we've already agreed with you.

Does the agreed price ever shift mid-job?

It stays exactly where we set it. Whatever turns up mid-job is our problem to manage, not an extra line for you to cover.

How do I pay?

Tap, transfer or good old cash, whatever's easiest for you. The figure was set before the job began, so there's no last-minute surprise on the invoice.

Do you hold a proper licence and insurance?

NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C backs every job, and cover extends to insured water work plus insured gas work under the one licence.

Is it worth having a go at the drain myself?

If it's just the one fixture playing up, a plunger deserves a try first. Once you're reaching for chemical drops or a hired eel, the risk of scoring or splitting old pipework climbs fast, and the same spot blocking up again and again is worth getting a proper plumber to look underneath, not just clear again.

Who actually turns up?

Expect a small, owner-led crew rather than a rotating cast of subcontractors. Whoever runs the business is still out doing jobs, not stuck behind a desk, backed by a team member whose main job is the stubborn sewer and drain cases that have stumped other plumbers.

How long have you been working on drains?

Fifteen-plus years working Sydney drains sits behind the team, salt-air coastal properties included, where the mix of sea spray and shifting sand adds its own wrinkle.

How soon can you have my drain running again?

Getting to a blocked drain the same day you ring is the normal outcome here, not a rare stroke of luck.

Do weekends or public holidays slow you down?

Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, it makes no difference to when we pick up. Blockages don't wait for the working week, so neither does our roster.

When does a blockage turn into an emergency?

Sewage rising back up through a fixture, water pooling somewhere it never should, or every toilet in the house jammed solid all count. Once the household can't safely use water, that call jumps the queue.

What happens once I've rung?

You'll describe what's happening, and we'll lock in a time, often the same day.

Which other suburbs are on your list?

Alongside Coogee, we cover [Randwick](/blocked-drains-randwick/), [Clovelly](/blocked-drains-clovelly/), [Maroubra](/blocked-drains-maroubra/), [Bronte](/blocked-drains-bronte/) and [Kensington](/blocked-drains-kensington/), all on the same regular run.

When a sewer blocks, does the fix fall to me or Sydney Water?

Ownership generally splits at the point your line ties into the main network. Everything on your side of that join is your job to maintain, and Sydney Water takes it from there. If a fault's location isn't obvious, working out which owner it belongs to is part of the visit, not something we guess at over the phone.

Are you actually local?

This patch of coast sits on the diary every single week, not as an occasional add-on to a bigger round. Salt-worn cottages and beachside units alike are familiar ground, not guesswork.

Why do older Coogee homes keep getting blockages?

Federation-era cottages around here mostly still run on their original earthenware drainage, which cracks and sags as it ages. On top of that, fine sand blown in off the beach and dunes can wash into stormwater lines and silt them up over time.
